Deutsche Windtechnik has been providing full maintenance for the Buchonia wind farm in Schlüchtern/Sinntal (Rhön - Hessen) since 2016. The contract was concluded on a long-term basis. It includes all maintenance and service work, upgrades, repairs, total losses and large component replacements as well as the creation of all necessary expert opinion reports for the nine Senvion 3.2M systems. Deutsche Windtechnik began its business of providing service from the time of commissioning with the contract with Buchonia Wind GmbH & Co. KG, making this an important milestone in the history of the company.

Independent service from the start

The operating company was prepared to break new ground right from the beginning and was able to achieve cost savings by negotiating with several service providers. The decision in favour of Deutsche Windtechnik was based on the professionalism, the open communication and the very extensive scope of the overall package that was offered. “The expectations that Deutsche Windtechnik has of itself regarding quality surpass those of any manufacturer that I am familiar with. We receive services from Deutsche Windtechnik in the overall package that are equivalent at the very least,” said Marius Heinemann, Managing Director of Buchonia Wind GmbH & Co. KG. 

New systems for more reliability and less downtime

In recent years, operators and Deutsche Windtechnik have made further improvements to the system technology. Among other things, the existing bat shutdown system was upgraded and a rotor blade ice detection system (type: polytech fos4X) was installed, which reduced downtimes due to weather conditions.
The nine Senvion 3.2M systems achieved an above-average yield in 2020 and are doing very well with an availability of over 99%.
