All-round carefree package for K/S Hydrovind

All-round carefree package for K/S Hydrovind

Since 2010, K/S Hydrovind has entrusted Deutsche Windtechnik (which at that time was still called seebaWIND Service GmbH) with its wind turbines, making the company one of our first customers. The cooperation has grown steadily over the years and now includes 30 wind turbines at 8 wind farms, which are covered by full maintenance contracts including large components, guaranteed average availability across all 8 wind farms and remote data monitoring. Full maintenance contracts have also been signed for turbines that will be operated beyond the usual lifetime of 20 years.

"I am impressed by the trusting cooperation with Deutsche Windtechnik. One single contact person has an overview of the entire portfolio including all services and special features. We feel that we are in good hands and are receiving good advice,“ said Johnny Larssen, Managing Director at Hydrovind, regarding the cooperation. "In addition, Deutsche Windtechnik has more in-depth knowledge of our Fuhrländer turbine types than any other service provider. They know all of the strengths and weaknesses of our systems," he added.

In 2017, all wind farms were converted from basic to full maintenance contracts. "This contract change has given us an availability guarantee and consequently more planning security. Large component replacements were planned. The full maintenance contract including large components enables us to know exactly what the costs will be in the next few years – and that our systems will run reliably during the contract period,“ Larssen said regarding the decision that was made at the time.

Maintenance plus System Service and ADLS retrofitting

In addition to the day-to-day business, various projects have been implemented over the years, such as the system service conversion to ensure eligibility for the system service bonus. For this purpose, a number of components, including the inverter and the turbine control system, were upgraded.

The order has already been placed to equip all turbines with ADLS that are required to have it, and the project is currently in the assessment and retrofit phase. Deutsche Windtechnik's ADLS system as a complete solution will be installed. Communication within the system takes place via a local radio solution and is independent of the existing infrastructure, the wind farm boundaries and the turbine technology. In particular, the two wind farms that include Enercon and GE turbines in addition to Fuhrländer technology will benefit from this.
