A partner who develops solutions independently is important for us!

EuroCape New Energy France SAS has been developing, constructing and operating wind and solar energy projects for more than 10 years now. The company has erected 260 MW to date and currently operates more than 128 MW. Cécile Pasquereau (Operation Manager France at EuroCape France) explains how ISPs differ from one another and why they contribute to EuroCape’s steady business growth.

Ms Pasquereau, our companies started cooperating in 2016. Was that the first time you chose an ISP to provide maintenance for your wind farms?
We started to work with an ISP in 2013 and quickly realised that the selected ISP company was a turbine expert but lacked further skills. A few years later, new ISPs began offering their services. Among them was Deutsche Windtechnik, clearly standing out from the crowd thanks to their track record in Germany and knowledge of Fuhrländer turbines. Within a month, they replaced a main bearing, a blade bearing and yaw gears. We are now certain that we have a skilful service provider maintaining our turbines.

Your business in France is recording steady growth. What is your recipe for success?
Dedication is definitely a key. At EuroCape France, we rely on expert team members who are 100 per cent involved in our wind projects. We are constantly working on improving our service, trying new paths. Meanwhile, we are securing strategies which work properly and strengthen long-term partnerships.

Deutsche Windtechnik is installing a self-developed noise-reduction solution in your wind farms. Can you give us an insight into the process?
Retrofits have no longer been developed for Fuhrländer turbines since 2013. However, we had to find solutions in order to comply with new regulations. It is important for us to be able to rely on a partner with the ability to develop solutions independently. Last year, Deutsche Windtechnik successfully installed a self-developed bat curtailment system for us, so we came back to them with our needs for noise reduction and smoke detection. There was no existing noise mode corresponding to the French regulation. Deutsche Windtechnik found a solution with satisfying results. Thus, we were able to demonstrate to the French authorities that we can master all technological challenges.
