Holger Hämel will coordinate global QHSE starting in 2024

Holger Hämel, who was previously Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik X-Service, will take on the newly created role of Head of Global QHSE at the turn of the year. In his new role, Holger Hämel will be responsible in particular for coordinating and moderating the harmonisation and further development of all aspects of QHSE at Deutsche Windtechnik AG. The company's valuable resources and expertise in the area of QHSE will increasingly be combined globally to provide mutual benefits.

Holger Hämel has long been aware of the importance of QHSE: "For a company that carries out the type of work that Deutsche Windtechnik does, the importance of this area can hardly be overstated. At first glance, it might seem like QHSE always causes extra work, but without agile and modern quality management, the satisfaction of our clients as well as the efficiency and manageability of our company would suffer. At the same time, Health, Safety and Environment regulations ensure our sustainability and protect our most important asset: the safety of our employees," he explained.

With his many years of experience as a managing director, Holger Hämel fulfils numerous individual prerequisites for his new role. He has an excellent network within the company both in Germany and abroad, has known the various business areas for years and has been a part of their growth and helped to shape it. Holger Hämel sees his role as that of a coordinator: "Our colleagues in the QHSE area are experienced specialists. They do a first-class job, and I have every reason to believe that they will continue to do so. However, due to Deutsche Windtechnik's rapid growth, some structures need to be adjusted here and there. My aim is to pool our existing resources and expertise in this area so that we can all benefit even more. I would also like to improve communication and the exchange of experience between the locations and country units. Development in this area slowed down over the past few years, mainly due to the COVID pandemic."

It is already clear that Holger Hämel wants to base his tasks on a structure of open dialogue: As a first step, the colleagues working in the area of QHSE in Germany agreed to introduce IMS software, taking international requirements into account, after they had examined various options in a joint project initiated by the new Head of Global QHSE. Holger Hämel is also looking to initiate similar projects beginning on 1 January 2024. Based on the current situation and the needs of Deutsche Windtechnik's individual international units, he will examine how elements within Deutsche Windtechnik can collaborate on QHSE topics more closely, uniformly, better networked and therefore more efficiently.
