Hao-Wei Chiu is the new Country Manager of Deutsche Windtechnik in Taiwan

Marcel Meins considers Hao-Wei Chiu the ideal candidate for this position, stating: “Hao-Wei has been familiar with our company for many years and has achieved outstanding results with his team. He has continually developed his skills and uniquely integrates these with the insights he has gained from both the APAC and European markets.” Originally hailing from a small town in Taiwan, Hao-Wei Chiu moved to Germany to pursue his engineering studies. After spending several years in the renewable energy industry, he returned to Taiwan as Sales and Business Development Manager at Deutsche Windtechnik.

Now in the role of Country Manager, Hao-Wei anticipates that his diverse cultural background will be instrumental in elevating the subsidiary: “One significant aspect of my role involves managing the subsidiary. Our local company’s culture is distinctively shaped by our German heritage. At the same time, we boast a team that is highly motivated, with a proactive approach to work and a strong sense of loyalty to the company – traits which resonate with the typical Taiwanese mindset. My aim is to additionally maintain an open communication culture similar to that in Germany here in Taiwan. I want to foster an environment where our team in Taiwan feels encouraged to share its ideas and viewpoints. I firmly believe that we will all benefit greatly from such an intercultural approach.”

Hao-Wei sees Taiwan in the frontrunner position in the offshore wind service industry in the APAC region. Furthermore, he identifies a significant strength in Deutsche Windtechnik’s business approach, as it stands out as the sole provider specialising in the field of wind service. “Our task is to define our service offering in Taiwan and throughout the APAC region more clearly. We possess the extraordinary experience, resources and infrastructure – we are fully prepared to enhance the life cycle of our clients’ assets.”
