Training and Development Manager

Summary of role

The Training and Development Manager will be a key member of the US organization and will interface heavily with our global training team and resources. This role is responsible for managing all elements of the company’s technical and non-technical training programs. The individual employed in this role will be required to define the training requirements for each staff position and oversee a system of online, classroom and OJT classes using a network of dedicated and part time trainers, tracking their progress in the company’s online Learning Management System (LMS). The generation of new course content, or the modification of existing course content, will be led by the Training and Development Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • · Ownership of the company’s Employee Development Program.
  • · Ownership of the company’s new hire orientation program.
  • · Ownership of the company’s Advanced Rescue Training Program.
  • · Interface with global training organization and trainers.
  • · Oversees and coordinates a system of global, local and part time trainers.
  • · Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • · System application.
  • · Confer with management and Develops, administers or sources training programs for employees, assesses training and development needs for organization, helps individuals and groups develop skills and knowledge, creates training manuals, presents in-person training sessions, monitors and review training for effectiveness.
  • · Work closely with EHS Dept. to instill a strong culture in the organization through training courses and by ensuring compliance to all statutory requirements.
  • · Work closely with the Quality Team to promote continuous improvement within the organization.
  • · Prepare annual budget for the program.
  • · Manage and report on actual versus budgeted expenditures for the program.
  • · Implement online Learning Management conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected contracts awards, changes, and other factors.
  • · Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
  • · Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
  • · Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • · Develop testing and evaluation procedures.
  • · Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees.
  • · Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members.
  • · Review and evaluate training and development programs for compliance with government standards.
  • · Travel to remote worksite locations for on-site training.
  • · Other duties as required in a fast growing company.

Dein Profil

  • 5 years of experience in a similar role or a combination of knowledge and experience with training programs within the Wind Industry
  • Turbine technology knowledge for the wind turbine models of Siemens and Vestas
  • · Further/ other wind turbine model knowledge is a plus
  • · Good knowledge of MS Office products (WORD and EXCEL)
  • · Good writing skills
  • · Good presentation skills
  • · Ability to climb wind turbines and work at height when necessary
  • · Ability to travel 40-50% of the time, if needed, including international travel
  • · Further language skills such as Spanish, German or French a plus
