The US-based unit of Deutsche Windtechnik has opened a new Specialized Field Services (SFS) Operations Center in Amarillo, Texas! This strategically located, carefully designed facility will serve as a base for Deutsche Windtechnik’s team of multi-brand experts who are ready to support sites from coast to coast with transactional services (services that are not covered by a long-term agreement) including O&M support, main component exchanges and inspections.
Offering transactional services can be time consuming and costly if the site in need requires extensive travel to reach. Parts and specialty tooling must be available on short notice, and often manpower must mobilize just as quickly. That is why CEO Melf Lorenzen and his team found a solution that meets the interests of all clients: A centrally located 1,600 square feet office facility for the more than 90 SFS traveling technicians with access to training and development, and a 8,400 square feet warehouse with spare parts and specialty tooling. Not only will the strategic location benefit clients with time sensitive needs, but the traveling technicians will also have a home base.
“We are thrilled to finally see this operation come to fruition. After careful consideration and research to find the most prominent location, the thoughtfully curated design and central location have improved our efficiency and offer our clients the first class service they deserve.”, said Kip Kuntz, Director of SFS.
After acquiring the wind operations and maintenance segment of Cooke Power Services, Deutsche Windtechnik has grown the team of traveling technicians by 100%. The significant growth of skilled labor with multi-brand experience can now meet the demand of incoming service requests such as major component exchanges, retrofits quality assurance and quality control, inspections, end-of-warranty inspections, troubleshooting.
