Deutsche Windtechnik USA has been awarded a contract which adds 107 GE 1.5 MW wind turbines to its portfolio. The projects, known as the Milford Wind Phase I and Phase II, are owned by Longroad Energy and span the desert landscapes of Beaver and Millard counties, Utah.

Located at the northern end of the Escalante Valley along its main wind corridor, Milford I and Milford II have been generating clean energy since achieving commercial operation in 2009 and 2011, respectively. The five-year Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts include the labour and parts coverage necessary to ensure these important projects can continue to perform well.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our long-term cooperation with Longroad Energy and bringing our GE turbine expertise to the Milford Wind project. Our in-house engineers and platform experts as well as the remote engineering support will ensure the highest level of service and performance for the 107 wind turbines at Milford Wind. This project is testament to the strength and sustainability of our partnership with Longroad Energy and our commitment to delivering outstanding results in the long term,” said Melf Lorenzen, CEO of Deutsche Windtechnik USA.

“Longroad is excited to be building on our relationship with Deutsche Windtechnik by partnering up with them to operate and maintain our GE turbines at Milford Wind. Milford I and II are key projects in Longroad’s operating portfolio that we know will be well managed under Deutsche Windtechnik’s care. In our experience, Deutsche Windtechnik works collaboratively to find the right solution for our projects, delivering superior results and long-term value,” said Jeremy Law, VP of Asset Management at Longroad Energy.

This is the eighth US state in which the US-based subsidiary of Deutsche Windtechnik will operate under a long-term service agreement, further cementing the company’s position as a leading provider of wind turbine services in the United States.
