Deutsche Windtechnik USA partners up with Longroad Energy and adds MHI 2.4 WTG to its portfolio

As of August 1st, 2022, Deutsche Windtechnik is servicing 60 Mitsubishi MWT-102-2.4 for Canadian Hills Wind in Calumet (Oklahoma). The Canadian Hills Wind project is owned by DIF Infrastructure IV, a fund managed by DIF Capital Partners, with Asset Management and Operations Management services provided by Longroad Energy. The five-year contract will create new jobs for ten Site Technicians, one Site Manager, and one Site Coordinator that will take care of the 144 MWs at Canadian Hills. The number of sites under long-term service agreements in Oklahoma makes a total of five for the US based unit of Deutsche Windtechnik. The latest service agreement covering the Mitsubishi MWT-102-2.4-technology increases the already extensive MHI-technology-expertise of Deutsche Windtechnik once again.

The five-year contract with Longroad Energy will create new jobs for ten Site Technicians, one Site Manager, and one Site Coordinator that will take care of the 144 MWs at Canadian Hills.

Jeremy Law, VP of Asset Management at Longroad Energy, said: “We value our newfound partnership with Deutsche Windtechnik and are excited about working together on this project. So far, we have received tremendous support and hope to continue working together on future projects.”

The technology model at Canadian Hills Wind requires specific experience to operate . Thanks to the acquisition of Cooke Power’s wind operations and maintenance segment in September 2021, Deutsche Windtechnik pro-actively doubled their number of technicians providing extensive MHI-knowledge, so that the team was prepared to add this new technology to its portfolio.

As the scope of contract focuses on labor and expendables, the Canadian Hills Wind project benefits from the new Operations Center in Amarillo (Texas), housing more than 90 specialized Traveling Technicians, including a 8,400 square feet warehouse with spare parts and specialty tooling. Deutsche Windtechnik is confident about supporting this project, existing and potential projects in surrounding wind heavy regions. Vice President of Operations, Brian LaMay explained: “The Operations Center in Amarillo ensures that our multi-brand field experts can efficiently support our clients. This recently opened operations center with our team of MHI experts available, made it possible to support Longroad Energy and this specific project. This collaboration will continue to improve the efficiency of the operations at Canadian Hills Wind project for the long-term.”
