Position Title: Business   Controller

Location: Humble, TX

FLSA Status: Exempt


Reports To: Head of Finance

SCHEDULE:
This role is full-time, typically between the hours of 8am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Usually up to 40 hours/week with 30 minutes - 1 hour lunch break (unpaid), unless other arrangements have been agreed to by the employer and the employee.

PHYSICAL  DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.  The employee will need to be comfortable working with a computer for extended periods.


DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

· Prepare and run monthly P&L reviews for each department and division of the business incl. special projects

· Prepare quarterly leadership team reports on the state of the union of the business including key performance indicators, plan vs. actual deviations and key insights on expenses, developments and trends

· Prepare and present financial performance of the business quarterly to board members and investors 

· Support leadership team and executives in ad hoc expense and revenue analyses

· Align monthly/bi- weekly cash flow forecast with global headquarters and mitigate any deviations

· Support business modelling for merger and acquisition activities

· Review monthly operations reports for accuracy and work with operations leadership to resolve any discrepancies

· Manage annual budgeting cycle and any changes to the budget throughout the year

· Review, approve and improve calculations model for operational projects in the bidding phase

· Convert sales bids to projects budgets

· Ensure all processed data is applied correctly to cost centers and projects for cost controlling

· Work collaboratively with accounts payable and other accounting staff to ensure accuracy in finances

· Generate and deliver reports to different departments as needed

· Analyze, develop and modify work flow procedures and policies, and play a key role in introducing new accounting systems and interfaces

· Preserve the confidentiality of sensitive business information

· Collaborate with accounting team to support various accounting projects and activities 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

· Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail required

· Superior proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint - ability to consolidate and analyze large amounts of data & present in a meaningful way required

· 2-5 years hands on experience in financial accounting required, with prior accounting firm work experience strongly preferred

· Experience with QuickBooks or related ERP system strongly preferred

· Team player attitude, willing to work flexible hours as needed

· Thrives in a fast moving environment

· College degree in Finance or Accounting

· Complete and comprehensive understanding of accounting practices and procedures

· Strong people skills – a polite and professional demeanor when working with other companies, as well as consumers and coworkers

EQUIPMENT, MACHINES, TOOLS USED:

Microsoft Office applications, (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and operation of office equipment (computers, tablets, cell phone, copier, etc.)

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Duties are performed in a climate-controlled office environment. Optionally, employee may be invited to engage in travel by car to site, and in worksite visit(s) or vendor meetings.
