JOB DESCRIPTION

As the BD Engineer you will have the opportunity to learn the wind energy by participating in both outside and inside sales in a digital world. To progress in the role and learn the wind industry the position will also require aspects of insides sales not limited to contracts, proposal preparations, client database and presentations. Also included, field visits, site roadshows, client’s presentations/demos, and participation at industry conferences.

Position Title: BD Engineer

Location: Houston, TX

Date Revised: November 29, 2021

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Director of Sales

Schedule: Typically 8am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Usually 40 hours per week with 30-60 minute lunch break unless arrangements have been agreed to by the employer and the employee. 30% travel required.

BD Engineer Summary

As a BD Engineer, you participate in every aspect of sales. Including but limited to outside and inside sales by traditional forms of communication and while utilizing digital and social platforms. This will include client calls, visits, site visits and travel, preparation and negotiation of offers, and participation and representation of Deutsche Windtechnik at conferences and road shows.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

30% travel

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

  • Prospect and qualify new sales leads
  • Schedule and attend meetings and/or presentation to potential prospects
  • Participate in presentation, contract, proposal and quote development
  • Track sales activities in CRM system
  • Align with marketing coordinator on events and internal/external messaging
  • Contact wind farm owners to understand current contract status and update opportunity pipeline
  • Calculation of service offerings
  • Market analysis and monitoring for your changes in the industry
  • Expansion of new and existing business
  • Negotiation and conclusion of contracts
  • Responsibility for implementing objectives set out by management
  • Monitoring, analysis, and reporting of client investments
  • Provision of services and support for customers
  • Ensuring customer service and satisfaction

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years of experience post college, ideally in the energy sector
