In 2015, Deutsche Windtechnik entered the UK market and now has over 640 WTG’s/700MW under Service & Maintenance contracts, our aim being to expand further into both onshore and offshore markets. Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd‘s head office is located in Edinburgh.

You will work closely with all departments in the UK and other group companies to ensure we are providing a level of service expected from a market leader. Although the majority of your time will be spent working in the UK you may be expected to spend some periods working with colleagues in Germany and in other Deutsche Windtechnik group countries.

Your tasks

The Store Assistant/Administrator will be working in the heart of the whole operation keeping the day to day running of the Stores Department as effective and efficient as possible. The candidate will work very closely with the whole stores department and also the Wales team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative support and also take ownership of the Wales store. They will be able to work independently and be extremely organised, flexible and enjoy the challenges of supporting a diverse team.

Duties and responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:

  • First point of contact for Wales office/store and general admin duties
  • Inventory management - Goods receive and stock transfers
  • Lead coordination of deliveries of stock and equipment to site via courier service, as per business need - personally deliver on request if required
  • Lead on stock audits for your area
  • Tools management - usage log (in /out), inspection, replacement, calibration, special tools, returns etc – single point of contact.
  • Ensure stock room is kept tidy and organised at all times
  • Follow all internal processes pertaining to their job role including HSE. Ensuring safety procedures are displayed at stores.
  • Dispatch orders in a time efficient and attentive manner, ensuring that all items are appropriately packaged according to cut off times
  • Support the dispatch team - Coordinate and assign services and fault resource and releasing already constructed service orders for the Wales area (when required)
  • Proactively raise service orders for upcoming snagging/engineering work

Your profile

The minimum qualification for the role are:

  • A good understanding and/or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Good knowledge of equipment and processes for wind turbine sites
  • Good knowledge of MS Outlook and MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access
  • Knowledge of  purchasing and expenses, administrative practices and procedure



  • A proven ability to work methodically and cope well under pressure
  • Teamwork, collaboration and willingness to take over responsibility independently
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbally)
  • Attentive and a strong attention to detail
  • Organised timekeeping and multitasking
