Master Wind Turbine Technician (m/f) Vestas®

We do everything possible to keep the wind turbines up and running and improve their performance, for the long term. In 2016, Deutsche Windtechnik entered the French market and now has well over 160 WTG’s/300MW under Service & Maintenance contracts, our aim being to expand onshore markets. Deutsche Windtechnik SARL head office is located in Châlons en Champagne.

You will work closely with all departments in the France and the Technical department in Germany to ensure we are providing a level of service expected from a market leader. Although the majority of your time will be spent working as a technician in a dedicated region, you may be expected to spend some periods working with other colleagues in France in order to share your experience, support and train local technicians evolving on Vestas® turbines. In addition, you take care of incidental maintenance together with your fellow service technicians and you help with malfunctions and you support the exchange of main components (gearboxes, generators, etc.).

We are currently looking for Master Wind Turbine Technicians (m/f) Vestas® for our French branch in the area of Morbihan or Côtes d‘Armor


Your tasks

  • Performing all mechanical, hydraulic and electrical work for maintenance, repairs or replacement of parts
  • Troubleshoot, repair and test electronic components, mainly in our facility but also in the local service areas
  • Perform error analyzes for complicated mechanical, hydraulic or electrical problems with wind turbines
  • Investigate performance of electrical, mechanical and blade related subsystems
  • Develop and implement support strategies within above mentioned tasks
  • In collaboration with the technical department, further investigation of malfunctions and the development of sustainable efficient solutions (root cause analysis)
  • Performing the tasks according to agreements within the specified time and according to the specified quality requirements
  • Project Management of Vestas® fleet issues
  • Provision of 2nd level remote and on-site support
  • Development and provision of technical trainings
  • Provide solutions in a quality and timely manner
  • Documenting and administering the work using the automated and prescribed reporting procedures.
  • Complying with all manuals, work instructions, processes and procedures in the workplace at the Wind Farm.
  • Upon demand perform upgrade and commissioning works on-site throughout France.

Your profile


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent state certified technician
  • 3 years proven experience in related field with strong focus on wind power
  • Sustained experience in troubleshooting and repairing related equipment’s
  • Excellent ability to work independent and efficient with minimum supervision
  • Experience in using electronic trouble-shooting equipment, e.g. DVM, Oscilloscope, etc.
  • Technical knowledge of computer hardware, Windows OS, Converter User Interfaces, VOB, etc. would be an advantage
  • Strong skills in datanalysis
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Computer literate

  • Work efficiently under pressure, juggle tasks and meet deadlines
  • Capacity to prioritize multiple projects and adjust work local accordingly
  • Excellent communicator with strong French and English skills, fluent spoken and written

  • Ability to write technical documents or statements
  • Customer and service-oriented attitude;
  • Health and safety awareness
