Deutsche Windtechnik is Germany’s largest Independent Service Provider, offering a comprehensive service package for Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) from one single source.

Position Title: Part Sales Representative

Location: Humble, TX Date Revised:  January 10th, 2022

FLSA Status:   Exempt Reports To: Supply Chain Manager


SCHEDULE:  

Typically 8am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.  Usually 40 hours/week with 30 minutes lunch break unless other arrangements have been agreed to by the employer and the employee.


DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

• Be knowledgeable about the Deutsche Windtechnik Inc.’s capabilities and spare part product portfolio

• Identify prospective customers, lead generation and conversion in collaboration with the Business Development Department

• Contact new and existing customers to discuss needs 

• Anticipate and understand customer problems and identify solutions Deutsche Windtechnik Inc. can provide  

• Answer questions about parts

• Have a basic understanding of spare parts, consumables, and major components needed for the operation of a WTG

• Negotiate prices, terms and prepare sales agreements

• Maintain contact lists and follow up with customers to continue relationships

• Assist in developing a parts sales strategy to drive sales within the US

• Meet or exceed sales goals

• Facilitate negotiation of all contracts with prospective clients in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager

• Help determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports

• Give sales presentations to a range of prospective clients

• Coordinate sales efforts with marketing programs

• Understand and promote company programs

• Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders

• Visit clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services

• Answer client questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability

• Participate in road shows and trade shows to promote Deutsche Windtechnik Inc. part sales capabilities

• Frequent travel (up to 50%) may be required


• If visiting warehouse facilities:

o Wear the proper safety equipment when in the warehouse

o Follow safety rules at all times

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:


• Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase requisitions, quotes, and procedures manuals.

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

• Ability to understand and follow customary instructions to perform the essential functions of the position in a satisfactory manner

• Ability to deal with problems involving varying situations and uncertainty.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision, given proper instructions


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or related field

• Minimum of 3 yrs experience in sales required

• Understanding of the sales process and dynamics

• A commitment to excellent customer service

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers

• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks

• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment

• Dependable and reliable

• Valid driver’s license

• Excellent driving record

• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift items weighing as much as 50 lbs

• Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk

• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl or balance

• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.


EQUIPMENT, MACHINES, TOOLS USED:

Forklift, printer, telephone, copier  


DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Duties are performed in a climate controlled office environment.
