Take a look through the keyhole
Deutsche Windtechnik, wpd and wpd windmanager opened their virtual doors on 22 April for Future Day 2021 to give schoolchildren an insight into the professional world of wind energy, even in times of pandemic. A total of 22 pupils took part in the multi-faceted programme with integrated live connections via Zoom conference.
One of the highlights was the live connection into a wind turbine: Two service technicians showed the young people the large components which generate electricity from wind. Of course, a view from the machinery house at a height of 75 m was an absolute must. Afterwards Trainees of the group of companies presented their traineeship and in the end a quiz about the discussed topics was held.
All in all, everyone had a lot of fun and was able to take with them plenty of information and impressions from the world of wind energy - even though this year it could only be virtual and not on-site.
