In April 2019, contracts were signed for more than 130 Gamesa G80 and G52 in Spain, adding to the company's presence and services, and this new contract is further confirmation of the reliability and multi-brand expertise of the independent service provider. The O&M activities will be carried out for at least four years, starting in the last quarter of 2019.
It is Deutsche Windtechnik's first major project in the southern regions of the Spanish peninsula. The size of the three wind farms and their geographical locations enable cost-efficient clustering of the service work. The technicians and service stations assigned to the region develop location-specific knowledge and expertise. In a market as competitive as this one, this service approach paired with a high degree of flexibility, is a key factor for success.
Alfredo del Tiempo Pina, Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik in Spain, said: "The trust that the customer has placed in us with this new contract is further confirmation that we are doing the right thing. At the same time, it is a challenge for our company to continue to offer the service quality and flexibility that have enabled us to reach this milestone."
The Spanish unit has an installed capacity of almost 1,000 MW in it service portfolio
Overall, Deutsche Windtechnik will be responsible for service contracts in Spain with an installed capacity of 1 GW, including turbines from Gamesa, Vestas, Siemens, Made-Endesa, Nordtank and NEG Micon. The trust of large, long-standing customers, the operational multi-brand experience and the tailored service offerings at the highest level of quality are some of the factors that strengthen the position of the largest independent wind energy service provider in the market.
