Deutsche Windtechnik SARL signs further full maintenance contracts for Senvion turbine technology in the east of France

Independent maintenance provider Deutsche Windtechnik SARL is expanding its service for Senvion wind turbines in France as well.

On behalf of the operations manager wpd windmanager, the company will begin providing full maintenance for seven Senvion MD77 turbines as well as four Senvion MM82s at the Ménil-la-Horgne and Méligny-le-Grand onshore wind farms on February 14, 2019. The contracts are designed for long-term full maintenance, including major components.

These new contracts are a confirmation of the long-standing cooperation with wpd windmanager and represent another important step in Deutsche Windtechnik SARL's growing service network. "Deutsche Windtechnik and wpd windmanager have been cooperating successfully for years at the Lanrivoare wind farm. As part of this activity, Deutsche Windtechnik has already done occasional work for the two Senvion wind farms Ménil-la-Horgne and Méligny-le-Grand. Based on the growing trust and the convincing quality of service, it was just natural to extend the partnership to include these wind farms," said Jonathan C. Badajos, Country Manager France of wpd windmanager. The company currently operates 28 wind farms with a capacity of 335 MW in France alone.

Using existing infrastructure

The contracts for the Méligny-le-Grand and Ménil-la-Horgne wind farms are in line with Deutsche Windtechnik's existing maintenance contracts in Meuse. This enables Deutsche Windtechnik to make good use of personnel and material resources in its comprehensive service network in the Grand Est region and to begin providing service on short notice. The service technicians located in the area are highly qualified and can even replace large components in a short time, if needed. The employees, some of which previously worked for the turbine manufacturer Senvion, receive regular training at Deutsche Windtechnik's Training Center. Practical and theoretical knowledge is trained at the Training Center using actual turbines from the leading manufacturers. Another important element is support in the field of re-engineering, which is located in-house at Deutsche Windtechnik Steuerung. Electronic components can be modeled, further developed and improved upon using its proactive upgrades. This not only increases the technical availability of the corresponding turbines but also reduces costs.

Development of Deutsche Windtechnik SARL

Deutsche Windtechnik in France has experienced positive development since it was established in 2016. During the first three years, various contracts for full and basic maintenance for turbines from Senvion, Fuhrländer, Nordex and Vestas were signed. The work sites are located throughout France and are serviced by a strong network of service stations and warehouses. The head office is located in Châlons-en-Champagne, Marne.
