Deutsche Windtechnik is expanding its turbine expertise in the UK to include Senvion turbine technology – five Innogy wind farms now under contract

Deutsche Windtechnik's British subsidiary is expanding its portfolio in the UK and will be providing O&M for five wind farms owned by innogy Renewables UK in the future.

In addition to Siemens, AN Bonus and NEG Micon, the UK subsidiary of the independent service provider now also covers Senvion turbine technology, just as Deutsche Windtechnik's other units do. The group of companies currently has a total of more than 400 turbines from all Senvion series under contract, both onshore and offshore.

New contracts expand the service infrastructure in the UK

The new maintenance contracts in the UK cover a total of 40 Senvion turbines of the types MM70, MM82 and MM92, and each has a three-year term. The geographical proximity of the wind farms gives Deutsche Windtechnik the opportunity to set up service structures that span multiple wind farms in the northern regions of England, including a warehouse and a local office. Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd. will employ additional service teams, engineers and team leaders with extensive expertise in Senvion technology. The first teams have already been hired. These new recruits will bring the total number of employees at the business unit in the UK to 100.

Knowledge transfer is the basis for high-quality Senvion service

Billy Stevenson, Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd., sees this milestone as further evidence that the ISP can deliver service quality that fully satisfies customer expectations: "Within the Deutsche Windtechnik Group, we already cover Senvion turbines with an output of 590 MW. We work closely with Deutsche Windtechnik's training centre and technical department in Germany and benefit from the transfer of knowledge. This enables us to ensure the highest level of service quality from the very first day of the contract term." Because of this, Deutsche Windtechnik has already won the innogy Supplier Award in the category Quality Global.
