In April 2020 a team of five service technicians completed two main component exchanges for AES on Buffalo Gap 3 in Merkel, Texas. The scope of work included two gearbox exchanges where one of the gearboxes was stuck on the main bearing causing a slight delay in the job completion.
Another unexpected element was the outbreak of Covid-19 enforcing Texas State recommendations to implement strict safety measures and adapt site management to be able to complete the job safely and unaffected.
Deutsche Windtechnik received a NPS score of 9/10 confirming a job well done: “The crew lead was proactive in safety”, confirms Justin Calcote, AES-Site Manager at Buffalo Gap 3.
